The Elements of Doom ... hmmm ... seems like the writer is having trouble conceiving really grand villain at this point ... and taking the easy way out by having the 'bolts always facing against an opposite number that is numbers, not number
And look at that cover ... sorry Mr Bagley ... it just looks very amateurish like you are just rushing to finish it off. Honestly, if someone is not a fan, a cover like that would not make them pick it up from the stands and flip through it ... and that colour scheme? Ugh!
So what has writer Mr Busiek got in store for us? Well as our heroes are flying through the sky from one place to another, they spotted a strange edifice and as they flew in closer to investigate ... out comes the Elements. Naturally a fight ensues and the 'bolts were defeated and captured ... finally facing the mastermind behind this round of nastiness. As it turns out, the brains behind is someone who has encountered the Avengers ... and that ending cliffhanger, hah! It only works if you care about the characters ... and at this point, so early in their career? Nah, falls flat as far as I am concerned. I only bought this because it was in the bargain bin ... and I didn't even both to finish reading it the first time around
Now? Equally painful to read through it for this review
