Let it be known without shame that I was once a huge fan of Power Pack to the extent that I even joined one of the fanzines that lasted a few years after the actual series ended! And yes, sometime last year, I finally downloaded from youtube the short pilot episode that was made for tv! And yes, it was just plain bad! Hahahahaha!
But in all seriousness, if you want to try the Pack, get volume 1 issues 1 to 25 as basically these are the definitive issues before dropping sales made them go like specialty shops only, crappy artists and what-not. Subsequently at the height of the comics boom, for diversity, Marvel actually used the Powers in limited series with various guest stars done ala Asian comics style ... so not for me ...
In this issue, the Pack continues their adventure with Marrina of Alpha Flight after she has managed to regain some semblance of her sanity and control her violent mutations. Basically, to cut a long story short, the Pack and Marrina discovered an alien life form living dormant in earth that has been awakened and now goes out to track it down and bring it to a place safe from harm
And the way the tale is told is simply awesome - brains not just brawns!
So there are no real villains in this particular tale but a lot of charm as we see kids behaving like kids, and we mean that not just whining okay? And the artwork is simply perfect. June Brigman never looked better. I mean, check out the cover, yes?
