An old war comic (my fave of them all) that has been resurrected every now and again to keep the character fresh or perhaps from lapsing into public domain (?) ... this is a 12-issue limited series during the 80s/ 90s I cannot remember when ... but the artwork is very workmanlike so it is unlikely it is the 90s when people are more into grimacing and over posing style of artworkHere we are not given much about this particular Unknown Soldier and we do not know if he is the same hero from the earlier series ... except that this takes place in the present day so to speak not WW2 ...
We see a few people who could be the Unknown Soldier at the start ... the guy in the fancy suit ... the military chap ... and then VC? Well, whatever we are assuming, it was all a red herring as we see the VC turning on their comrades but have patience ... and the following pages will reveal all ... as our erstwhile hero ... turns out to be ... ssssshhhhhhhh no spoilers here
And naturally he starts investigating into who did what to him ... only to come up against someone rather high up in the ranks ... unfortunately at this point the story made no sense ... if he had discovered this why did he confront the chap at a public gathering and then instead of taking action he went back and waited for people to come and take him out?????
Because hey that's how the first issue ended ... he could have been killed and maybe he will in the next issue but because of the bleuuurgh artwork and the storylines ... I didn't bother
