With that out of the way, let's review this because the name Lucifer in the title is indeed Lucifer of the Morningstar, he who was cast out of Heaven after a failed coup attempt. And like Sandman, while there is an over-arcing storyline to this miniseries, interspersed amongst the bigger picture are also little gems like this that plays into that story yet stands by itself quite well
This particular story is more a magical who-done-it
It concerns a couple of young girls who are best friends except one day one of the girls died/ murdered and her ghost appears talking to her mate. Now this other girl always believe she had a flair with the spirit world and in this case, as she calls her "grandmas" for help, and she tries to summon the devil himself ... only to be cautioned off ... and so she goes through the usual paraphernalia of trying to use magic to trace the source of who killed her friend
Except when the truth comes, it is from an unexpected angle ... and landed she herself in equally dire straits ... and that dire straits is a double-fold ... even her own plan to get out would have gotten her the bitter pill ... if not for the final appearance of one Mr Lucifer ... so why did he appear? And what was his message?
