Wow! I just re-read this and it is awesome. Even though it is like from more than 20 years ago - the artwork, the story, the pacing - perfect and told in one! Basically, all you need to know is that the Hulk has reverted to savagery and all the heroes in the 80s inc Thor fought him to a standstill. Dr Strange came on the picture and sent him to the nexus of dimensions i.e. a realm where each path leads to a portal to another world
Dr Strange hopes that the Hulk will try until he finds a world that keeps him contented or happy. And to ensure he is never too unhappy? Or face danger where his strength is useless? Dr Strange has a failsafe spell that sends Hulk back to the crossroads
Now with all this ability and logical thinking, one has to wonder why in the past few years, when the Hulk, still intelligent and potentially causing problems did the heroes of Earth decided to just zap the Hulk into outer space onto one specific planet only?!?!! Hence resulting in that long though enjoyable drama and culminated into WWHulk?!?!?! Why didn't Strange do this again?
Well for whatever reasons, we suggest you hunt down a copy. The artwork is brilliant! Kupperberg did an astounding job and the colouring, even without computer aide, is just excellent. The story is simple. The Hulk, at the crossroads has no food and to survive he tries one portal after another. And on one of these portals, he found contentment and to our own surprise, even friendship but such matters, like real life may not always be long term. Still the joy and the impending disaster to come was told with such gentleness that it touches the reader from across the pages
Just plain good comics!
