247. X-Men vol 1 #1 to 3 ... Marvel ...

Final day of the year ... and to put forward something good ... we went through our list of reviews and was surprised to find that these 3 issues were not covered ... so definitely we have to, right?

For those who read comics and actually doesn't know, there was a time before DC and Wildstorm and Image when Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld and Todd Mc were like superstar artists at Marvel and each of them were given the chance to launch a new title each

For Jim Lee, he left Uncanny to Whilce Portacio ... and launched a new  X-Men title ... this one ... with like 5 covers or something and sold millions of copies ... although we believe a lot of the buyers are speculators because now you can go online and buy them for like really cheap. Hehehe!

But you know what, it doesn't do justice to the book

Great art, great colours, great storyline ... has human interactions besides just superhero action ...

As the cover shows, basically after the long silence, Magneto is back and typical of Magneto whenever he comes back to remind everyone of his agenda and power, he goes overboard and causes massive problems on planet Earth and then retreat back to his home in the sky

The X-Men definitely intends to go after him but the challenge is how and can they go up there undetected ... when we talk about X-Men here, we are talking about a huge team of original and new and other newer mutants ... and we talk about Magneto, this time he comes with the Acolytes ... a new bunch of mutants led by a chap who supposedly spouts the lines made famous by Magneto as if Mags is a cult leader or some such ...

Betrayals are a plenty ... from the good guys or from the bad guys? And we found out more about some of the Acolytes ... and potential ties with  Xavier

A rollicking good read ... and the ending ... can bring a tear to one's eyes! Sniff Sniff!
